What Life’s About

After church tonight I watched Austin go down to the soccer field and play with some of his friends and as he played I couldn’t help but be thankful for all the friends that God has blessed him with.   He has friends at school,  in the neighborhood,  at soccer,  and at church.   It’s definitely an answered prayer because I prayed that God would bless him in that way.

If you are a parent,  pray for your children’s friends and even for their future spouses.   Pray most importantly for their salvation because God really does hear those prayers.

The last few weeks have been a struggle getting Isaac away from Ipads and video games because of his seizures but we’ve prayed for strength and God has given it to us.   Of course this change in our house has also meant that Austin’s “screen time” has been limited.   Tonight as I watched him run and play I realized that that’s a good thing as well.

I asked him, “Did you have fun?”

He replied,  “oh yes and it’s a lot better than a video game because I’m not alone,  I’m with people.” All I could do was think and that’s what life is about.   Jesus said the greatest 2 commandments (what life is about)  are “love the Lord your God with all your heart,  all your mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. ”   God is good.
